Access Statement for Briarfields Guest House Torquay.
Introduction
The Briarfields Guest House is a 8 Bedroom 17th century house. Situated just a mile from the town centre of Torquay, all our bedrooms are on two floors, first, and second floor. The dining room is situated on the ground floor.
Pre-Arrival
* We are located on Avenue Road. The main train station is Torquay which is 1.2 kilometres away, there is also a local smaller station called Tore station 1 kilometre away.
* The closest bus stop is 600 meters away on the main road called (The Avenue).
* There are a number of local taxi companies the preferred company is: Torbay cars 01803 211611.

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
* Briarfields has its own private car park, it has enough spaces for 10 cars all are clearly marked with illumines markings. The surface to the car park is tarmac and in very good order.
* Assistance with Luggage is offered to all guests on arrival.
Main Entrance & Reception
* There is a main entrance to the guest house which leads into the tiled front porch with anti slip mats for inclement weather conditions. Lighting is by down lighters controlled by motion and time sensors.
* There is a side hung door 90cm wide leading from the porch into the main hall where our brochures and leaflets are kept.
* The lighting in the main hall is lit by down lighters on motion and time sensors. There is a hall lamp to provide extra night light for our guests.

* The hall has a Chesterfield sofa located to the right as you enter the building.
* DINNING ROOM
* Access to the dining room is through a side hung door 90cm wide, on the ground floor.

* Bedroom 1 is a double room with a 6 foot bed 58cm high. The room would not be suitable for wheel chair as it is located on the first floor.

* The bathroom is half tiled.
* BEDROOM 2
* Bedroom 2 is a double room with a 6 foot bed 58cm high. The room would not be suitable for wheel chair as it is located on the first floor.
